Sustainable Farming Systems and Natural Resource Management
This is one of the key programs of COSIL, which aim at improving food security and incomes of the rural poor people but also strengthening their position in relation to dealers, market and financial institution. COSIL highly cherishes environmentally friendly farming systems that are highly productive, sustainable and low-cost. COSIL will also focus its resources on enhancing the understanding of climate change and its implications at farmer level and come up with appropriate adaptive response mechanisms based on evidence from research that are cost effective and user friendly to the smallholder farmers.
Efforts will also focus on interventions for adaptive technology in the short run and mitigation measures to climate change in the long run thereby ensuring that the main source of livelihood for smallholder farmers is not adversely affected.
